Merchandise
Prep Supplies
Hangers, 60-67lb. or 110lb. white cardstock/coverstock (best found at office
supply stores--in a package or check with copy center to buy individual sheets), safety pins, heavy,
clear packing tape, Ziploc bags. In order to scan the barcode,
nothing but 60-67lb. or 110lb. white cardstock will be accepted. Supplies
and hangers can be purchased inexpensively at Walmart, Target,
or the Dollar Stores. Wire hangers are preferred. Tina and Stephanie
will have these for sale for 50/$5.
Please do not use vinyl-coated wire hangers as they are not shopper friendly.
Plastic hangers are allowed, but clothing tends to slip off them and end
up on the floor and safety pins don't easily fit around them.
At the end of each sale, we have a large section of “lost
and found” items.

Tagging
There are lots of great things about our online bar-coding system. It's very important that
you use only 60-67 lb.or 110lb. cardstock/coverstock. Nothing else will be
accepted. Your tag should look like the example to the left. Please
DO NOT place tape over the bar-code on the tag.
To prevent any loss due to fraud, we will not accept any items that
have crossouts or scribbles on the the tags.
Tip: We suggest when creating your tags that you use only lower case letters
in the description fields. That should prevent you from having problems when you
print your tags.
Important: You must reprint any tags that:
You want to make changes to from a previous season (i.e. Lowered price, changed discount or donate stats, etc.)
You have transferred from another local sale that has the name of that sale on the tag.
You have made changes to in the computer from when you first printed the tag for the current season.
When entering tags, consignors are now required to put a specific description on each tag. For clothing, toys, etc. the brand (i.e. Baby Gap) must be in the top box with a short description in the bottom box (i.e. blue dress with flowers). For books, the title of the book must be included.
When printing, if you do not want to buy an entire ream of cardstock, it is very easy to save your tags to a CD-rom or jump drive and have them printed at Office Max, Office Depot, etc.

Barcodes
To the left you will see examples of barcodes. The first is a good
bar code. This is what your barcodes need to look like on your tags.
The others are examples of barcodes that will NOT scan. Please print
a test page to make sure your barcode looks clear. You must be able
to see the complete barcode and white spaces in between. If you
are printing on a color printer, please make sure you choose “Black
Cartridge Only” in your settings, or it will use your color
cartridge to print black, which causes it to not print clearly.

Pricing
As a general rule, mark your items 75% OFF what it sold for as
a new item. Name brand items (like Gymboree, Little Tikes, etc) and
larger items (strollers, cribs, etc) will sell for more. Use only
50 cent increments (i.e. $3.50, $4.00). Click
here to download a Pricing Guide. |

Clothing
Please bring only Fall/Winter garments for this sale. Hang garments
with the hanger facing the left (like a question mark). Attach tag
with a safety pin to the upper right front of the garment as you are
looking at it. Clean and press all garments. Please do not use S,
M, L on your tags except for maternity clothing. Estimate a numerical
size. $3 Rule – all hanging garments must be
worth a minimum of $3. If not, combine it with another item
to equal $3. No stained clothing or clothing with holes will
be accepted. Replace missing buttons; sew loose hems and
seams; clip loose threads; make sure zippers and snaps work properly.
We do not accept clothing with stains, holes or tears so check your
items outside in the sunlight as you can often see better than under
interior lighting. Check clothing for current fashion (within the
last five years). Single pants should be safety pinned to the top of
the hanger at each side. For two-pieced garments, the waistband of
the pants/skirt needs to be safety pinned to the back shoulders of
the shirt (catch the hanger with the pin.) All clothing items
must be hung on hangers with the exception of onesies. |

over the bar-code on the tag. Be careful of where you place the tape

should have all pieces and be in boxes (tied or taped closed.) No
stuffed animals unless battery operated (lights, movement). Car
seats that are more than 5 years old WILL NOT be accepted. Car seats
that are missing their date sticker WILL NOT be accepted.

get separated. DO NOT print multiple barcoded tags
for the same item even if you put $0.00 on the extra tag. Each item
must have ONLY one barcoded tag. |

bras, hair accessories, purses, belts, packaged onesies and diaper
covers. Non-acceptable accessories include underwear/panties
and socks. |

Helpful
Hints
For sizes up to 2T, a whole outfit sells better than just a pair of
pants or just a shirt. A little ironing and starch can make a used
shirt look almost brand new. Make sure to close those baggies with
HEAVY TAPE…your items won’t sell if they’re separated
on the floor. If possible, for sizes 3T and smaller, use child sized
wire hangers. These will be available for purchase from Tina and Stephanie
for 50/$5. Optional: To ensure that your item isn’t one that’s
lost, you can place a piece of masking tape with the complete barcode
number under the barcode on the printed tag, found inside of your
garments where the label is. Put this number on any flat surface of
your other items. This is one more way for us to identify who the
item belongs to should the tag get lost. |
